Danielle is a Registered Psychologist and has her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree. Danielle’s practice revolves around the understanding of the importance of trust, therapeutic relationship building, cultural safety, and support; and she brings a strong background in the bio-psycho-social model that incorporates trauma-focused and informed care. Danielle is a certified EMDR trauma therapy provider.

 

Danielle is equipped to assist people navigate through complex trauma, grief, and life changes /transitions (for example divorce, career change, and health status changes such as perimenopause and menopause). As a provisional psychologist, Danielle can also provide assistance with mental health diagnosis, treatment and support.

 

Working through attachment lenses, she utilizes a positive psychology and strengths-based approach to be person-centered and solution focussed while utilizing cognitive behavioural strategies and techniques. She is also familiar with dialectical behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, and existential therapy.

 

Previous to her psychology career, Danielle completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies through the University of Calgary and a Rehabilitation Practitioner diploma through MacEwan University. Danielle brings with her over 20 years of experience working as a Behaviour Consultant for and with individuals and families supporting developmental disabilities, mental health diagnosis, trauma, dual diagnosis, and complex behavioural needs.


Danielle works with later adolescents, adults and couples. She has completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this training in her work. Danielle also finished the Advanced Master Program on the Treatment of Trauma through the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioural Medicine and completed an Intensive Trauma Treatment Certification.

CBT focuses on identifying, challenging and replacing our destructive thought patterns that have a negative influence on both our emotions and behaviors.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is used to treat individuals with trauma-related conditions through bilateral stimulation.

The Gottman Method is a research-based couples therapy approach that emphasizes enhancing communication, emotional connection, and conflict resolution skills.
